The committees of The ASCO Cancer Foundation oversee specific activities and projects for the Foundation. Committees report to the Board of Directors and meet at least once a year.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee of the Board makes and implements decisions between the quarterly scheduled Board Meetings. The Executive Committee of the Board is composed of the Chair, the Secretary, the Treasurer, the Chief Executive Officer of ASCO and a fifth At-large Executive Committee Member elected from and by the Board.

The Finance Committee
The Finance Committee reviews and presents the annual budget to the Board of Directors for approval. This committee also receives, reviews, and reports to the Board on the annual audit and management letter submitted by the Foundation’s independent audit firm. In addition, The Finance Committee reviews the performance of the Foundation’s investments and has oversight responsibility for managing the Foundation’s assets.The Finance Committee is composed of the Treasurer, as Chair, and two other Directors elected by The ASCO Cancer Foundation Board of Directors to serve a one year term.

The Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is responsible for providing the Board of Directors with the nominees for Director and Officer positions and the At-large Executive Committee position. The Nominating Committee is composed of The ASCO Cancer Foundation Chair, the ASCO President, a third member jointly selected by the Foundation Chair and the ASCO President, and two additional members appointed by the Board of Directors.

The Grants Selection Committee
The Grants Selection Committee administers the grant awards under The ASCO Cancer Foundation Grants Program including the Young Investigator Award, Career Development Award, Advanced Clinical Research Award, and Translational Research Professorship. The committee and its subcommittees are responsible for: 1) formulation of policy related to the selection criteria; 2) distribution and processing of candidate applications; and 3) review and selection of the grant recipients.
