Making a difference in the health care environment
The ASCO Cancer Foundation provides funding to support programs at the state and regional levels designed to improve the care and treatment of patients across the country.
State/Regional Affiliate Program: The ASCO State/Regional Affiliate Program addresses the practical needs of community oncologists by offering a range of services to 47 state and regional oncology societies. The program offers expertise and guidance on ways to strengthen their organizations' effectiveness, enhance their educational activities and support their members. Each state/regional affiliate has a voting representative on the ASCO Clinical Practice Committee who serves as a liaison between that affiliate and the Society.
State Affiliate Grant Program: The State Affiliate Grant Program enables state/regional affiliates to engage in activities that will benefit their members, ASCO members, other state societies and the oncology community at large. The purpose of the State Affiliate Grant Program is to provide financial support to help state/regional affiliates to implement specific activities, such as conducting an educational meeting, developing an informational brochure or newsletter, creating a state clinical trials network, or taking part in a quality cancer care initiative collaborating with a patient advocacy group on an awareness campaign.
